Abstract - This whitepaper discusses the implementation of a high-speed source transfer system at the Orangeburg, SC Department of Public Utilities to provide the Albermarle Pharmaceutical plant with a more robust power supply. Traditionally, Automatic Source Transfer systems were inherently designed as pad-mounted switchgear. This application, however, required a pole-top solution and consists of four pole-top primary switching units and three power sources interconnected in a mesh topology.
