    QP Breakers

    Circuit breakers provide a manual means of energizing and de-energizing a circuit. In addition, circuit breakers provide automatic overcurrent protection of a circuit. A circuit breaker allows a circuit to be reactivated quickly after a short circuit or overload is cleared. Unlike fuses, which must be replaced when they open, a simple flip of the breaker's operating handle restores the circuit.

    All circuit breakers perform the following functions:

    • SENSE when an overcurrent occurs

    • MEASURE the amount of overcurrent

    • ACT by tripping quickly enough to prevent damage to itself and associated conductors


    Features and Benefits

    Siemens QP breakers provide easy plug-in connections in Siemens enclosures and the time saving Insta-Wire feature. Siemens offers three AIC ratings for these breakers: QP @ 10K AIC, QPH @ 22K AIC, and HQP @ 65 K AIC.

    There are 4 available constructions to choose from:

    • 1 Pole 120V

    • 2 Pole 120/240V

    • 2 Pole 240V

    • 3 Pole 240V

    400Hz Calibration - add suffix Y

    Marine 50º C Ambient Calibration - add suffix M

    Fungus Proofing - add suffix F

     

    Special Applications

      HID Lighting  - add suffix HID

    15 - 30A 1 and 2-pole breakers for high-intensity discharge lamp loads having in-rush currents above the instantaneous trip setting of a standard breaker.

      Tungsten Lighting - add suffix T

    15-20A 1-pole breaker used for high wattage, tungsten-lamp loads having in-rush currents above the instantaneous trip setting of a standard breaker.

      Molded Case Switch - add suffix S

    100A 1-pole and 30, 60 and 125A 2-pole breakers for applications that do not require overcurrent protection.

      No-Noise - add suffix NN

    50 - 90A 2-pole breakers for applications that require a reduction in the 60-cycle hum of a standard breaker.

      Switching Neutrals - add prefix QG 

    15 - 30A 2 and 3-pole breakers used where all conductors are required to be disconnected.  Neutral pole of the circuit breaker does not connect to loadcenter bus. One side is wired to neutral and the other side to the device.

      Water Heater - add prefix QW

    15 - 30A 3-pole breaker used when installed in a loadcenter, the water heater circuit breaker does not make electrical connection with the loadcenter bussing. Separate metered circuit is connected to line terminals of the breaker. Used in special rate water heating areas.
