ST 105 – Introduction to Terminal Equipment Controllers

Overview: This web-based training course explains the basic operations, interaction and function of a TEC.

Participants: For users whose role is to monitor, interpret and command Terminal Equipment Controllers (TECs) direct connection subpoint data.

Objectives: Upon completion of the class, you should be able to:

  • State the purpose of TECs

  • Describe the physical components of a TEC

  • Describe how to communicate with a TEC locally

  • Describe the different types of subpoints

  • Set a minimum and maximum room temperature setpoint

  • Trace the generation of the temperature control setpoint
